INTERVIEW WITH ACADIANA OWNER- SHIHAN PABLO MEJIA

Being One of the top Martial Arts Schools in Lafayette, Louisiana, Acadiana Karate has been coming and participating in the Dungal Submission Grappling Championships many times! Check out the interview below with acadiana Karate owner - Shihan Pablo Mejia.

Question: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you have been up to lately and tell us about your team?

Answer: As most school owners I have been dedicating most of my time managing the day to day operations our martial arts locations. We will be celebrating our 40th year in business next year so I am really pumped about that.

Question: Tell us  about your experience in the Dungal?

Answer: I love bringing my students to the Dungal because it offers one of the most unique competitions for non traditional jiu jitsu schools. Our curriculum is more diverse offering both ground and stand up self defense so it gives our students the unique experience to test their skills against more traditional jiu jitsu and more heavily concentrated MMA schools.

Question: Who will be representing your school at the Dungal?

Answer: Our team this year will consist mainly of female and youth competitors.

Question: Any Message or advice for the competitors this year?

Answer: We love coming to the Dungal year after year because the event is always super organized and professionally run. Master Zulfi is truly an innovator in our industry and I highly recommend this event to any school that has a grappling or ground self defense curriculum. I look forward to being part of the 2017 Dungal Submission Championships!
